Training

ExpertCare provides their caregiving staff with "client specific" training as well as caregiver "skills development" training.

Our commitment to ongoing training reflects our goal is to represent the best in caregiver services, and to be the employer of choice for the best caregivers.

The training we provide occurs on two different levels - client specific training and skills development training.

Client Specific Training

This is training that occurs to help orient new caregivers to a specific client or consumer and their household. We emphasize client likes and dislikes, tasks and activities that need to occur, and proper reporting and documentation. The training encourages the caregiver to function as independently as possible on their first visit to a client's or consumer's household.

Skills Development Training

These are offered as courses to help maintain or further develop a caregiver's skills in related areas. Some of these courses may be required for working with community mental health clients and may need to be renewed on a regular basis. Others may be offered as way to facilitate growth in the caregiver profession. Examples of courses that may be required to work in the area of community mental health are:

  • CPR training
  • First Aid
  • HIPPA
  • Blood Borne Pathogens
  • LED
  • Cultural Diversity
  • Gentle Teaching
  • Recipient Rights
  • Emergency Procedures
